OK, who wants to waste some time? Head over here. It took me about 20 minutes to hammer out the proper sequence.

Is there sound?

I don't have sound on my work 'puter. Is there supposed to be sound, and if so, would that help me have a clue as to what I'm supposed to be doing?

Yes, there is sound, but no, it doesn't make a difference.

Okay, call me slow, but it took me twenty minutes to even figure out the point of the game. And as interesting as I find it, I find I have very little patience for games that I can't figure out quickly...

I'll probably go back to try to figure it out, but I'm largely guessing at random... and with 479,001,600 possible random guesses, I'm not likely to have much luck. Oh, sure, I've narrowed a couple things down, but not significantly.

This is the first time since Myst that I've felt this useless at a game. Of course, I never tried a lot of Myst-like games... and even for N64 Zelda when I visit Syracuse, I use as many info books as I can. I like having the whole picture going in. I'm not a very good gamer that way. I don't like having to slowly piece together the concepts that the game-writer has; it's too much like life.

Someone I know once created a text adventure where the only way you could win was to discover that, while wearing one certain item, you had to use the unlisted verb "Think". It would say, "Think about what?" And if you put "Think about (character name)," you would then magically become that character. And there was only one place in the game where this was useful. While I found this clever, I couldn't help but wonder... how many people were going to decide to type the word "Think" into a text adventure when they came to a dead end? It's game gimmicks like that that I just can't deal with.

Yeah, I don't get it.

And as an enormous fan of both adventure games in general and text adventrues in particular, that's a horribly bad puzzle, for exactly the reason you state.

Did it! Thank you, thank you, thank you! And thank you, Google, for leading the way to the answer.

Lots of fun, as much fun as the penguin game.
