Just discovered my mother will have quadruple bypass surgery tomorrow morning.
Writing this at a kiosk in the hospital lobby on my way up to see her.
So. How you doin'?
For what it's worth to atheist you, I'll pray for her.
Until then, I'm sorry. I hope she pulls through it okay.
Love you man (it's true, even though man makes it seem so BurningManesque),
Wishes of best as quick as can be to you and dear Ma.
If you need anything, let me know.
Keeping you & your mom in my thoughts.
If I recall correctly, you don't have anything specifically against prayer other than a general assumption of its futility... but better a good-intentioned futility than none at all, eh?
You're both in our prayers.
A very wise man once told me that prayer is nothing more than articulated hope.
I hope that your mom gets well soon, and I hope that you stay strong and optimistic.
