Work just outright blows. I had to leave the work floor in order to avoid a physical confrontation that I would have started.
In happier news, I saw "The Shipping News". I was excepting another mildly soporific Lasse Hallström picture, but I was pleasantly surprised. I think. I really enjoyed a lot of the elements (Oliver Stapleton's cinematography, Christopher Young's score-and, of course, Cate Blanchett) and many thing worked well for me at the time, but I'm not sure how I'll think of it in the cold light of day. Kevin Spacey acquits himself fairly well, as the mushmouthed Quoyle, but…I'm not sure. Ultimately, I recommend it, but with nagging reservations. (Interestingly, I went through almost the same process with last year's Hallström Oscarbation, "Chocolat".)
Tomorrow is an off day of books and driving to eye doctors.
I have received at least one vote in favor of retaining my personality. So that's something.
Today's Link Of The Day speaks for itself, really. Oprah? N'oprah. http://www.oprahcalldave.org
